Purple!
This month's project spectrum color is my favorite, purple! I haven't knit much in this color recently simply because I've been trying to add some variety, and after a quick peak through my photos I realized that I never took pictures of all the purple projects I made when I got back into knitting. However, I did find this:
If you look closely you'll see some purple streaks in there. This photo was taken the same day I had my hair streaked in December 2004, which is why it looks so dark (it brightened after a few washes). It took four hours! I think my mom even liked it, although I'm sure my parents started wishing I would stop timing my trips to the stylist to coincide with family visits. No one ever knows what to expect. =)
I have a couple projects that I'm hoping to get to this month. I'm a bit behind on knitting now that it's time to write my dissertation. First is a pair of argyle stockings similar to Eunny's in Dale Baby Ull in two shades of purple that I brought from home. I'll probably use her argyle chart, but aside from that I plan on winging it. I think I'll try a solid, after thought heel and a solid toe. I just need to figure out how I want to do the decreases. Next is a top made from Wendy Supreme DK cotton in a lavendar color that I got a while back. I'm thinking of a simple, textured top with 3/4-length sleeves and buttons running along the top length of the sleeves. I've narrowed it down to three stitch patterns: blanket moss stitch, rice stitch, and plaited basket stitch (all these can be found in knitting.about.com's stitch library).
